Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic and highly motivated early career engineer for a Device Engineer role in our 300mm wafer fab in Malta, NY. You will collaborate with Technology Development and transition to New Product Device Engineering to ramp Silicon Photonics devices.

This position emphasizes data-driven improvements, device performance, and cross‑functional teamwork to drive cost reductions, shorter cycle times, and customer‑focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in circuit design or related field.
• Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a multicultural team.
• Experience with design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
• Solid understanding of circuit design, devices, yield implications.

Responsibilities

• Launch Silicon Photonics devices and set performance targets.
• Analyze device performance including electrical and optical behavior.
• Lead New Product Introductions and ensure first-time-right launches.
• Collaborate with Electrical Characterization to set up SPC controls.
• Apply data and failure analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with Test, Integration, and Process Modules to implement cost-effective enhancements.
• Support customer engineering to deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute to manufacturing process module improvements to reduce costs and cycle times.
