Job summary

Tidy Services in Southwest Virginia is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead the maintenance shop for cars, trucks, and off-road equipment. This hands-on role directs mechanic workflow, sets repair priorities, and provides daily leadership while continuing to perform diagnostics and repairs.

You will report to the Fleet Manager and ensure repairs meet safety and quality standards, while coordinating preventive maintenance, parts sourcing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a mechanical shop and directing technicians.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for trucks and off-road equipment.
• Proactive in safety, quality, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily work of mechanics and technicians.
• Assign repair and preventive-maintenance work based on fleet needs, parts availability, and priorities.
• Prioritize and sequence repairs to return vehicles and equipment to service safely and efficiently.
• Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, coaching, and training to mechanics.
• Monitor work in progress and address delays, performance issues, and workflow problems.
• Communicate major equipment failures, repair delays, staffing concerns, parts constraints, and recurring problems to the Fleet Manager.
• Maintain daily shop cleanliness, organization, bay discipline, tool accountability, and safe work practices.
• Set a professional example for safety, productivity, workmanship, documentation, and teamwork.
• Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, and off-road equipment.
