Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is hiring for winter seasonal positions, including front-of-house roles. The Lead Server / Wait staff will provide prompt, friendly service in restaurant & bar settings, and you may benefit from tips and a supportive team environment.

Starting wage ranges from $12.14 to $16.79 per hour, with guaranteed minimum earnings of $20/hour for tipped positions. Housing is available, and you’ll join a company that prioritizes training and wellness benefits.

The Lead Server / Wait staff will be responsible for providing prompt, professional, and friendly guest service to restaurant & bar guests at all times.

Job Specifications:

• Starting Wage: $12.14/hr - $16.79/hr
  • If hired into a tipped position, guaranteed to make a minimum of $20/hour, inclusive of tips
• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for having a strong food knowledge base as well as a very detailed understanding and memorization of the current menu items which include all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as food and specials.
• Handles all opening and closing duties required to operate the restaurant and ensures that all stocking is done, tables are properly set, and the dining room is clean.
• Must actively use suggestive selling techniques while always trying to upsell our products.
• Must be proactive in effectively selling beer, wine, liquor, and food to guests sitting in the dining area.
• Communicate all necessary and important information with the Restaurant Manager and the entire Food and Beverage team.
• Capable of multi-tasking and working at a fast but thorough pace.
• Complete all side work that has been assigned.
• Attends the daily pre-shift meeting to learn any important daily information and any other scheduled staff meetings.
• Have comprehensive wine and liquor knowledge and adhere to all state liquor laws.
• Ensures that all state health regulations are being adhered to.
• Cash & credit card handling includinghonesty and fairness at end of shift tip out to bartenders and food runners.
• Must be enthusiastic and interactive to help portray a friendly, fun, and exciting bar environment
• Check/Sign off on server side work
• Check server paperwork is accurate and complete
• Print Shift Reports and resets
• Train new staff on IG and restaurant policies and flow
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to communicate in English
• Ability to communicate in Spanish -preferred
• Prior serving experience
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• TIPS certification required - will provide with TIPS training within 30 days of hire if necessary.

The expected pay range is$12.14/hr - $16.79/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
