Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Security Officer to perform routine patrols across the campus, write incident reports, and respond to both non-emergency and emergency calls under supervision. The role provides security services to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include following directives from the Security Manager, reviewing reports, conducting rounds, and assisting with crisis management.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups.
• Must pass Security Defensive Tactics Training.
• Must pass taser and pepper gel training.
• Ability to interact with people at all levels to communicate information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Previous leadership experience in a formal or informal role or security experiences.

Responsibilities

• Carries out assignments as directed by the Security Manager and/or supervisor.
• Follows up on all incident reports and dispatch entries, ensuring proper completion and communication.
• Completes routine inside/outside rounds and dispatch duties.
• Responds to all calls from the public, hospital staff, and the security dispatcher.
• Physical management of patients going through crisis.
