Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment across its facilities in northern Michigan. This PRN role emphasizes customer service, de-escalation, and proactive vigilance to deter theft, vandalism, and violence.

Responsibilities include monitoring access, patrolling, reporting incidents, and assisting patients, staff, and visitors. Daily duties require standing and patrolling for long periods and coordinating with healthcare teams as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED OR 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license is required.
• CPR and AED Certification (infant and adult) within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure environment by patrolling assigned areas and monitoring facilities.
• Assist patients, visitors, and employees with safety and security concerns; provide excellent customer service.
• Investigate incidents, document findings clearly, and report to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to alarms, codes, and emergencies; implement de-escalation strategies and, when necessary, safe physical intervention with training.
• Follow established lockdown procedures and control access as needed.
