Corewell Health is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard patients, staff, and hospital property in Big Rapids. You will patrol facilities and grounds, monitor for suspicious activity, respond to emergencies, enforce policies, and assist with access control to maintain a calm, secure environment.

This role requires strong communication, observation, and decision-making skills. Training and licensure are required and a valid Michigan driver license is needed. Part-time, day shift.

Qualificações

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 20 years old with valid Michigan driver's license.
• CRT-First Aid certification (AHA/ARC) required at hire or within 180 days.
• CRT-BLS certification required within 180 days.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in Public Administration or Criminal Justice and experience.

Responsabilidades

• Patrols buildings and grounds to deter incidents and ensure safety.
• Documents incident reports thoroughly and promptly.
• Assists with directions, escorts, lost & found, and other requests.
• Provides access control for secured areas.
• Communicates with patients, visitors, and health care team.
• Defuses conflicts using de-escalation and appropriate force when necessary.
• Responds to suspicious or emergency situations.
• Maintains professional competence through ongoing training and licensure compliance.
