Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Security Engineer - Python/Java Developer in Wilmington, DE to join the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls team within Corporate Technology. You will be a core technical contributor across multiple domains, delivering secure software in an agile environment.

You will lead high-impact engineering efforts, drive reliability and security improvements, and mentor engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years’ applied experience.
• Proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and site reliability best practices.
• Advanced hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Fluent in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java/Spring Boot).
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with depth in cloud/distributed systems.
• Proficient in automation and CD methods, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient with observability tools and SLO alerting.
• Proficient with container/orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience troubleshooting networking technologies.
• Practical cloud-native experience.
• Actively self-educates and evaluates new technology.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, development, and advanced troubleshooting to solve complex problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code, and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Lead resiliency design reviews and act as the main contact during major incidents.
• Lead initiatives to improve reliability, stability, and performance using data-driven analytics.
• Define service level indicators/objectives and error budgets with stakeholders.
• Provide high-level technical expertise across domains and solve bottlenecks.
• Document and share knowledge through internal forums and communities of practice.
