Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to join the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls group. You will drive design and implementation of secure, scalable systems across private and public cloud environments, and mentor senior engineers while ensuring compliance and audit readiness.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding in Java and Python, design reviews, and a strong focus on security testing, incident response, and release hygiene in a regulated financial services context.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in security engineering concepts.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-native systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python with a track record of high-quality code.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases in production systems.
• Ability to review AI-assisted code/security recommendations and ensure security and auditability.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve distributed systems with reliability, scalability, security, and operability across cloud environments.
• Contribute hands-on code in Java and Python; develop production-ready services using Spring frameworks.
• Apply enterprise AI capabilities to threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and security documentation with proper data handling.
• Own production systems end-to-end including incident management, performance, and post-incident improvements.
• Ensure security, audit, and compliance throughout SDLC and mentor other engineers.
