Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking an Advanced Laboratory Technologist for the Evening shift (4:00 pm - 12:00 am). The role covers Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Blood Bank, with responsibility to lead fellow technologists and ensure quality across testing areas.

The position requires NY licensure, ASCP certification and 4 years of lab experience (or 2 years with a master's) in a medical technology field, with on-site work at Allen Hospital in Upper Manhattan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master's degree or 1 year of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science.
• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum unless credentials are grandfathered in as life experience
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department

Responsibilities

• Lead to other Laboratory Technologists and troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation and perform quality control procedures.
• Perform tests in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Blood Bank; research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations.
