Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking an Advanced Patient Care Laboratory Technologist (Generalist) for a full-time day shift. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and NYS licensure, with ASCP preferred, at the Allen campus in Upper Manhattan.

Responsibilities include performing tests across Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology, with quality control and documentation of results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent curriculum).
• New York State licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years of laboratory experience in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Document results and perform quality control procedures per policy.
• Follow-up on out-of-range results and ensure accurate records.
• Work full-time days (8:00 am–4:00 pm) with alternate weekends and rotating holidays at the Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood.
