Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Allen Hospital is seeking an Evening Shift Laboratory Technologist to join our fast-paced laboratory team in Upper Manhattan. You will perform tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank, lead other technologists, and ensure quality control and calibration of instruments.

The position requires NY State licensure and a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, with ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 year of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department.
• ASCP certification preferred (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests as a Generalist covering Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation; troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Perform all quality control procedures and assist in evaluating new equipment, reagents and methodologies.
• Lead and guide other Laboratory Technologists in procedures and operations.
• Evening shift duties from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am, Monday to Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.
