Job summary

Waters seeks a Scientist/Manager for the Single Cell Multiomics team to develop and support BD Rhapsody assay products. You will work with scientists to advance molecular biology and NGS-based solutions, communicating across disciplines to drive product launches and platform performance.

The role emphasizes hands-on experimentation, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with engineering, QA, and operations to ensure high-quality reagents and consumables.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology or related field.
• 8+ years of research, including 5+ years in industry.
• Extensive RNA-seq and other NGS techniques with library prep, sequencing, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead development from feasibility through verification, validation, and tech transfer to support high-quality product launches.
• Partner with commercial, engineering, bioinformatics, quality, and operations teams to launch reagents and consumables.
• Support Operations to finalize manufacturing specifications, BOMs, SOPs, and QC protocols.
• Provide sustaining support for launched products to maintain quality.
• Design and perform hands-on experiments to meet development goals.
• Review literature and development data to guide progress.
• Develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations showing Rhapsody platform performance.
• Build a collaborative, focused team with clear communication and timely decisions.
