Job summary

MSD is seeking a highly motivated scientist/engineer to advance late-stage small molecule programs from development to commercialization. You will lead technical initiatives across our global network, directing process development, characterization, and regulatory activities.

This is a leadership role requiring mentorship and strong collaboration with diverse teams. The position emphasizes driving scalable manufacturing processes, robust design space, and strategic inputs for

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in chemical engineering or related field with at least 11 years of process development experience; or a Ph.D. with 7+ years post-PhD experience.
Demonstrated experience with chemical process development, design, scalability, and process understanding.
Experience leading process characterization, regulatory filing support, and process validation planning/execution.
Ability to mentor technical staff and lead cross-functional teams across stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute experimental programs addressing design robustness, scalability, and productivity of small molecule processes.
Drive process characterization activities to establish robust manufacturing processes.
Manage regulatory filing support activities, including control strategy development and validation planning.
Mentor and develop laboratory staff through data analysis and problem solving.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance complex development programs.
Communicate results effectively with stakeholders and influence decision making.
