Job summary

MSD in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a researcher to develop and execute experiments for research and product development across interdisciplinary teams. The role may supervise others and requires designing experiments, analyzing data, and presenting findings to management.

You will maintain lab records, stay current with technological advances, and contribute to invention disclosures, grant proposals, posters and papers. A strong publication record and leadership experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Engineering or related field preferred.
• Postdoctoral or industrial experience preferred.
• Master’s degree may be considered with at least 6 years of independent and productive research or development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree may be considered with at least 7 years of independent and productive research or development experience.
• Phage display, antibody discovery/engineering, molecular biology or related areas desirable.

Responsibilities

• Independently designs and executes experiments to support research and product development and qualification efforts.
• Analyzes data using appropriate software and statistical analyses.
• Presents findings to peers and managers; makes recommendations for project advancement.
• Maintains laboratory notebooks and prepares procedures and records.
• Supports invention disclosures, patent applications, and grant proposals as needed.
• Keeps organized, detailed project records and communicates results to stakeholders.
