Job summary

The Lompoc Unified School District is seeking a Child Nutrition Worker II to prepare and serve meals for staff and students at assigned school sites, following portion control and safety procedures.

You will supervise Child Nutrition Services Worker I and student workers, maintain sanitation, manage inventory, handle basic cashiering duties, and participate in training sessions and meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in quantity food preparation or equivalent training.
• Valid Serve Safe certificate required.
• Basic math and cashiering skills.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of foods to staff and students at a school site.
• Heat, pan, arrange and serve food items; replenish salads and beverages.
• Maintain clean and sanitary food service facilities and equipment.
• Train and provide guidance to junior nutrition workers and student workers.
• Perform routine cashiering duties and handle money and deposits.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, receipt, storage, and rotation of food items.
