Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to lead a school nutrition kitchen, ensuring nutritious meals meet guidelines and supervising staff. This full‑time role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork within a supportive school environment.

You will manage orders, food storage, service lines, and event catering while maintaining a positive, compliant operation and engaging with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of cooking experience.
• ServSafe certification (or willingness to get certified).
• Ability to speak and read English and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead in preparing and serving meals that meet nutrition and portion guidelines.
• Handle daily ordering, receiving, and storage of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly by organizing staff, cleaning duties and ensuring food safety.
• Manage hot and cold serving lines, brew coffee, and keep beverage areas stocked.
• Deliver meals when needed for classrooms, staff, or catered events; manage POS/cash handling.
