Job summary

Mt. Diablo Unified School District is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker I for Valley View Middle. The role oversees food preparation and service for an elementary setting, directs a team, and ensures meals are prepared on time with proper sanitation.

Starting date is immediate, work week is Monday through Friday, 5:30am to 1:30pm. Training and supervisory responsibilities are included, with compliance to state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in institutional or commercial food preparation work, one year of which was in a supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of modern principles and practices in institutional food preparation, service and storage; HACCP sanitation.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate a large staff; maintain records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Directs food service personnel in the preparation, serving, and storage of food.
• Plans, organizes and coordinates the work of the staff to ensure that meals are ready on schedule.
• Orders and receives foodstuffs and supplies.
• Trains new employees in the preparation and serving of meals, and the use, care, and maintenance of equipment.
