Job summary

Del Valle Independent School District is seeking an Assistant/Floating Manager for the Child Nutrition Services. The role requires supervising cafeteria staff, managing daily kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards within the school district’s dining facilities.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED, possess a food manager certification and ServSafe certificate, and have three years of institutional food service experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (recognized by TEA or regional accrediting agency)
• Food manager certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
• ServSafe Certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment
• Valid Texas driver’s license
• Fingerprint background check clearance (approx. $50 non-refundable fee)
• Three years of experience in institutional food service
• Sanitation knowledge and adherence to HACCP and health standards
• Ability to manage kitchen staff and coordinate food service operations

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining work schedules and production records

• Ensure meals are prepared and served according to menu specifications
