Job summary

Vallivue School District in Idaho is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services worker to coordinate kitchen operations and serve nutritious meals to students, ensuring efficiency and cleanliness in line with state and federal guidelines.

You will supervise meal prep, adjust recipes for daily needs, work with the school nurse on dietary requirements, and maintain accurate records, inventories, and reports under the supervision of the Nutrition Services Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in cafeteria food service as determined by the Board.
• Bookkeeping/budgeting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food management, nutrition, sanitation, and related laws.
• Ability to plan work and supervise others.
• Ability to perform simple bookkeeping and inventory procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily school meals on time per planned menus.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in kitchen and cafeteria.
• Prepare food according to uniform recipes and check quality.
• Consult with the school nurse on special dietary needs.
• Store food properly and maintain required temperatures.
• Determine quantities and serving sizes for age groups.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist in serving food.
• Cooperate with principals and custodians on sanitary conditions.
• Prepare reports as directed by the Food Service Supervisor.
