Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a mid-level Custodian to maintain cleanliness of school buildings and grounds. You will receive classroom and hands-on training in cleaning tools, equipment and safety, and may supervise other custodial staff.

Qualifications

• Must know cleaning techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to learn and operate cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial work to maintain cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, gym, cafeteria and grounds.
• May supervise other custodial staff; rotate day/night shifts as needed.
• Assist when other staff are absent and ensure security of buildings.
