Job summary

Cortica is seeking a Lead Behavior Technician - School Based Support to join our San Diego, CA team. You will deliver direct behavior-analytic services to students with autism in school settings and supervise School Behavior Technicians, ensuring high-quality, neurodiversity-affirming support aligned with IEPs.

You will mentor BTs, coordinate with BCBAs and school staff, and manage day-to-day supervision, training, and data collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience leading and managing direct reports.
• 1+ years of experience providing ABA services in school or clinical settings.
• Ability to obtain assigned safety training certification within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain BCAT or RBT credential within 30 days of employment, where required by the district.
• Must maintain reliable transportation and must be able to travel between work sites.
• First aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavior-analytic services to students with autism in school settings.
• Supervise School Behavior Technicians and manage performance.
• Lead by example with BIPs and skill acquisition programs aligned with IEPs.
• Mentor BTs, answer questions, troubleshoot implementation.
• Substitute in schools to ensure continuity of services.
• Collaborate with BCBAs, educators, and school teams to integrate strategies.
• Collect data and monitor student progress; ensure accurate data collection.
• Provide feedback and coaching to BTs.
• Participate in observations, meetings, and training sessions.
• Oversee day-to-day administrative supervision of SBTs: performance management, leave and scheduling, accommodations support, workers' comp, and separations.
• Establish working relationships with reports from orientation to employment separation.
