Job summary

Fairwinds Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced SATCOM Systems Engineer to lead integration efforts on DoD SATCOM programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Hybrid work with 3 days in office per week, with potential for 4–5 days as project needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years DoD SATCOM design/integration experience.
• Experience as technical lead on a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Proficiency with MIL-STD-188-164B/165B and SATCOM terminals/modems.
• U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering team with daily technical direction.
• Define WBS with Program Manager and allocate resources.
• Author and maintain system-level documents (requirements, design, ICDs).
• Lead architecture and integration for SATCOM terminals and RF ground systems.
• Support test, embedded software, DSP, and FPGA teams.
• Coordinate with customers and program stakeholders in reviews and demos.
