Job summary

KBR, Inc. seeks a SATCOM Terminal Systems Engineer to design and integrate terminal hardware, modem software, and antenna subsystems for national security programs. You will participate in design reviews and document interfaces across multi-subcontractor environments.

The role requires DoD experience, satellite waveform knowledge, and ability to coordinate with cryptographic and mechanical teams to ensure system-level compliance and successful field testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degrees in electrical, systems, or computer engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant systems engineering experience in defense comms or terminal integration.
• Knowledge of satellite communications, waveform fundamentals, and link performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system requirements allocations and traceability for terminal hardware, modem software, and antenna subsystems.
• Support and participate in formal design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, SVR) and prepare technical packages and documentation.
• Prepare and review Interface Control Documents for integration with host platform networks and power/antenna systems.
• Analyze EHF waveform performance and scheduling interfaces for AEHF satellite operations.
• Coordinate with cryptographic engineers to ensure protected communications requirements are allocated and verified.
• Coordinate with mechanical and antenna teams on integration constraints and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Support system integration and lab/field testing including MIL-STD-461/810.
