Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-first store and assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise. You will operate the cash register, stock shelves, and help set up displays while supporting store profitability and asset protection.

In the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, you will lead floor operations, open and close procedures, and coordinate with team members to ensure a smooth, efficient shopping

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling and safety policies.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate merchandise on shelves, and build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; clean restroom and stockroom; assist with sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
