Job summary

Tutor is a robotics AI company seeking a Quality and Reliability Engineer to own the hardware quality function for production. You will lead containment, MRB, failure analysis and supplier RMAs, building tools with AI to track issues and drive corrective actions.

You're the first specialist in this area, responsible for defining quality gates, measuring MTBF targets and coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and customer success to ship reliable robots to customers, with travel up to 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 4+ years in quality, reliability, test or hardware engineering.
• Experience driving production or field failures to root cause.
• Experience working with suppliers on RMAs and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Containment and MRB management with RCA ownership.
• Lead failure analysis on returns and field failures; guide teardowns.
• Build and run AI-assisted FRACAS and data dashboards.
• Set pass/fail criteria for parts and ships/holds decisions.
• Track reliability targets (MTBF) and report to leadership.
