Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an RN - Shift Lead I for part-time day shifts at St James Hospital in Butte, MT. The role provides leadership, clinical guidance, and coordination of unit resources to balance census and acuity on the shift.

You will supervise staff, respond to emergencies, and work with the staffing office to adjust numbers as needed, while supporting department productivity and timekeeping on the floor.

Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited program required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License and BLS certification required.
• Nurses hired before specified dates may have relaxed BSN requirements per policy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care and supports staff.
• Responds to emergencies and acts as charge/lead for disasters.
• Collaborates with staffing to adjust numbers for census changes.
• Communicates with the Charge Nurse about census, admissions, and discharges.
• Promotes productivity, timekeeping, and unit activities.
• Participates in hospital committees as needed.
• May float to other departments within competency.
• May be on-call during scheduled shifts.
