Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Lead RF Electro-Mechanical Technician to join a team of physicists, engineers, and technicians. You will lead a small technician team, translating engineering priorities into daily actions on assembly, RF, and high-voltage tasks.

The role blends R&D with manufacturing, requiring strong communication and hands-on mechanical/electrical skills. Expect a fast-paced, safety-focused environment with opportunities for growth and impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; two-year technical school or military training welcomed.
• 5+ years’ experience with hand/power tools, machine shop equipment, and a variety of technical support skills (mechanical/electrical assembly, plumbing, soldering, and wiring).
• Hands-on experience with high voltage up to 480V.
• Hands-on experience with RF and electrical measurement/test equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork; able to work independently in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble RF transmitters and components, build I&C cabinets, and integrate sensors.
• Lead hands-on assembly, fabrication, and precision tasks with a technician team.
• Work safely with 480V electrical systems and test equipment to validate builds.
• Ensure quality and safety standards while coordinating with engineering and shop floor.
