Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking a retail associate to deliver outstanding customer service and hit sales goals while maintaining store standards. You will handle cash, process POS transactions, and support inventory, merchandising, and promotions with accuracy and enthusiasm.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and a willingness to learn product knowledge to assist customers and participate in store initiatives. Previous retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with customers and staff.
• Basic communication, organization, and math skills are required.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably footwear or specialty retail.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.

Responsibilities

• Create an excellent shopping experience for customers following service standards.
• Maintain awareness of current sales promotions and stock presentation.
• Ensure merchandise is well arranged and store areas are clean and organized.
• Assist in inventory, shipping/receiving, and merchandise placement as needed.
• Process sales at the POS in accordance with policy and ensure accuracy of cash handling.
• Lead by example in accuracy and completeness of work and support store management.
