Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital is seeking a Lead Retail Food Services professional to oversee daily operations of cafeteria, coffee shops, and customer-facing outlets within Food & Nutrition Services. Responsibilities include staff coordination, inventory, sanitation, and customer service excellence during day shifts.

The role requires ServSafe certification within 30 days, 1–3 years in healthcare/retail food service, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Active ServSafe certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 1-3 years of healthcare and/or retail food service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open/close department; ensure equipment functionality and staffing adequacy.
• Coordinate tasks; serve as escalation point for retail outlets.
• Notify management of damages; place service calls as needed.
• Deliver quality customer service and maintain menu availability during hours.
• Drive service excellence; review goals and share best practices.
• Maintain records (HACCP audits, temperature logs) per guidelines.
• Ensure infection control and safety guidelines; FIFO and sanitation.
• Maintain adequate food supply; notify kitchen of shortages.
• Maintain calm demeanor during high volume to set a positive example.
• Identify risks and support problem resolution.
• Assist with cash handling, deposits, and cashier management.
• Train/mentor staff; lead by example and conduct huddles.
