Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities when the Store Manager is unavailable. You will help set up plan‑o‑grams, restock merchandise, and provide exceptional customer service while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Primary duties include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the cash register, handling cash, and maintaining a clean, organized store. This role requires reliability and strong interpersonal skills to support teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of safety policies and cash control practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store process.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan‑o‑gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate register, process payments and make change.
• Maintain clean store Front End and set up sidewalk displays.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction; sign refunds/overrides.
