Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager. You will assist in plan-o-gram setup, maintain merchandising standards, and deliver exemplary customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the cash register, and helping ensure a clean, organized store. This role emphasizes customer focus, accuracy, and teamwork across store operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipment categories per Store Manager directions.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers entering the store.
• Operate cash register and itemize total purchases.
• Provide exceptional customer service leadership.
• Open and/or close the store under Area Manager guidance.
