Qualifications

• Education: Degree from an AMA approved program in respiratory therapy and a Bachelor degree is required.
• Experience: 3–5 years in adult critical care environment; NICU/ECMO experience preferred; RRT required.
• Certification/Licensure: Licensed in respiratory therapy by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; RRT; BLS, ACLS, NRP.
• Software/Hardware: Proficient with Meditech and Microsoft Office applications.
• Other: Must obtain sufficient annual continuing education to maintain license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight, assistance, support, and problem resolution to respiratory staff, including assignment and workload coverage.
• Ensure high clinical standards in assessment, administration, education, and observation of respiratory therapy as ordered by licensed practitioners.
• Address staffing levels and call-offs, providing on-site coverage as needed and participating in intradepartmental meetings.
• Develop and troubleshoot clinical care policies, procedures, and protocols; ensure consistent application.
• Assist with equipment purchasing, inventory management, and department cost effectiveness.
