Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for full-time nights. The role delivers respiratory therapy, pulmonary diagnostics, assessments, and documentation across neonatal to geriatric patients.

Under Medical Director supervision, you will develop care plans, monitor responses, and lead shifts when assigned. Required NBRC RRT, active state license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS; preferred NRP and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Must have NBRC-credentialed RRT.
• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care services based on physician orders and patient needs.
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosols, airway management, and ventilator support.
• Perform pulmonary diagnostic testing and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Document respiratory status, treatment effectiveness, and changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to develop patient care plans.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, codes, and rapid response events.
