Job summary

IES is seeking a seasoned Residential Electric Technician to lead rough-in crews, perform advanced electrical installations, and mentor junior electricians on residential projects. The role emphasizes safety, high-quality workmanship, and adherence to electrical codes across new construction sites.

You will review plans, coordinate activities, and resolve complex issues while maintaining productivity and project schedules on active residential sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; hands-on residential electrical experience required.
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring installers strongly preferred.
• Experience in residential new construction strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and installation methods.
• Relevant electrical licenses or certifications preferred or required where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support residential electrical rough-in crews to ensure safe, accurate installations.
• Perform advanced residential electrical installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Train and mentor electricians in rough-in methods, safety, and codes.
• Review plans and work orders to coordinate rough-in activities and ensure quality.
• Inspect rough-in work for code compliance and adherence to standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical installation issues in residential settings.
