Job summary

IES Residential in Leander, TX seeks an experienced Residential Electric Technician to perform installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair while leading rough-in crews. You will train less experienced electricians and ensure work meets safety and code standards on residential projects.

You will review plans, coordinate materials and manpower, inspect rough-in work, and resolve field issues. Travel and pre-employment screenings may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 4–6 years of residential electrical experience.
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring crews.
• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and specs.
• Must pass background/MVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support residential electrical rough-in crews to ensure installations are completed safely, accurately, and according to project schedules.
• Perform advanced residential electrical installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
• Train, mentor, and provide hands-on guidance to electricians and less experienced crew members.
• Review project plans, specifications, layouts, and work orders to coordinate rough-in activities.
• Inspect and verify electrical rough-in work for quality, code compliance, and adherence to company installation standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical installation and service issues in residential environments.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain crew productivity and meet project schedules.
• Communicate with supervisors, project management, builders, employees, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and electrical codes.
• Monitor job site conditions, materials, tools, and equipment for efficiency and safety.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to installations and activities.
• Serve as a technical resource for crew members and assist with field concerns.
