Job summary

Adelbrook is seeking a Lead Residential Support Counselor to provide direct care and supervision in a residential setting for individuals with ASD/IDD. You will model professional behavior, support daily routines, and assist with care plans in line with agency policies.

The role requires 1–2 years of residential experience, high school diploma or GED, and completion of required certifications (PMT, CPR/First Aid). Flexibility for varied shifts and potential driving duties are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in residential or direct care setting.
• Must complete and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, PMT, DCF Medication Certification).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; may drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision, support, and personal care to individuals in the residential program.
• Support daily living activities including hygiene, meals, recreational activities, and community outings.
• Assist in implementing individual service plans and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs and incident reports.
• Serve as shift leader, guiding other direct care staff.
• Support new staff with on-the-job training and teamwork.
• Ensure home safety and cleanliness per standards.
• Respond to behavioral incidents following agency protocols.
