Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Resident Engineer with construction inspection experience in the New York City Metro Area, focusing on rail transportation and infrastructure projects. Candidates should have a Civil Engineering or related degree, 5+ years of experience with public rail projects, and a New York PE or ability to obtain one, with OSHA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of infrastructure/transit project experience with rail.
• Experience with public agency projects and NY area standards.
• Professional license in NY or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction inspection staff for rail and transportation projects in the NYC Metro Area.
• Act as primary field liaison between the owner and contractor.
• Plan, organize and supervise inspection activities and schedules.
• Monitor cost breakdown, payments, and change orders; manage project closeout.
• Supervise engineers, inspectors, and sub-consultants.
• Lead progress meetings and coordinate technical submittals, RFIs, and issues with design engineers.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
