Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Resident Engineer with an electrical background to support our New York rail projects. You will oversee electrical inspection and construction management, chair meetings, and coordinate with transit agencies to ensure safety, schedule and quality targets are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of electrical construction experience, with familiarity in major rail projects; OSHA 30-hour certification and reliable transportation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering activities and leading construction field teams.
• Experience with MTA NYC Transit, Metro North Railroad, NJ Transit or LIRR construction projects is a plus.
• OSHA 30-hour safety course is preferred.
• Candidate must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff in the electrical inspection and construction management of rail electrical projects.
• Chair meetings and prepare minutes of meetings.
• Review manning reports, payroll certifications and other labor documentation from the contractor.
• Review Contractor’s schedules, Baseline and updates, in coordination with CCM and NYCT project and program direction.
• Review Contractor’s Work Plans.
• Monitor Contractor safety, health plans and Safe Work Plans compliance.
• Monitor and ensure Contractor’s compliance with the approved Contractor’s Quality Plan.
• Other duties as assigned.
