Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student at Fitchburg State University.
• Be enrolled in 12 credit hours.
• Maintained a minimum of a 2.8 semester and cumulative GPA.
• Dropping below 12 credit hours during employment must be approved by the Director of Residence Life/designee.
• Completion of 1 full academic semester in the role of a Resident Assistant prior to the start of their appointment.
• Failure to meet the GPA or credit requirements will result in progressive disciplinary action.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill all expectations outlined in the Resident Assistant position description.
• Be a position mentor to the Resident Assistants, as guided by your supervisor.
• Return to campus for training sessions no earlier than 2 weeks before opening of the residence halls and no more than 1 week prior.
• Address issues and concerns through documentation and referrals with your supervisor.
• Support leadership as guided by your supervisor.
• Moderate the duty selection process for RA staff.
• Attend campus educational workshops or professional development opportunities.
• Participate in Residence Life sub-committees and departmental meetings.
• Support events, programs, and initiatives to enhance the residential experience.
• Provide administrative support for the assigned residential community and manage administrative assignments.
