Job summary

White Cap in Colorado is seeking a Lead Rental Yard Associate to lead daily yard operations, ensuring equipment readiness and accurate documentation. You will supervise associates, oversee service, repairs, and inventories, and maintain safety standards while delivering outstanding customer support.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in rental equipment or yard operations, with strong leadership, training abilities, and a focus on safety throughout all tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in rental equipment, construction, industrial, yard, or related operations, with knowledge of equipment inspection and maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated experience leading, training, and supporting associates while coordinating daily yard or operational activities.
• Experience inspecting equipment for damage, coordinating repairs, and maintaining equipment readiness and preventive maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Audits all required documentation, timesheets, checklists, receiving records and repair order and maintenance logs.
• Establishes and maintains a written maintenance schedule.
• Oversees the service, repair and/or rebuild of equipment as necessary.
• Ensures all rental equipment is in good, usable condition before it goes out to the customer.
• Inspects all rental equipment for damage when it comes back from a customer and reports any damage accordingly.
• Performs weekly and monthly equipment rental inventories to ensure appropriate equipment inventories.
• Monitors equipment rental transactions to track lost or stolen equipment, including filing police and insurance reports as needed.
• Opens and closes the rental yard, authorizes refunds, and handles customer issues.
• Oversees forklift maintenance and daily completion of pre-operation checklist.
• Administers goals and training programs for associates to include safety training.
