Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. seeks a senior reliability specialist to lead staff overseeing relay testing and protective relay software programs. You will ensure consistent software usage across FEU, develop relay test routines, and provide field technical support for maintenance and compliance with NERC PRC-005.

You will coordinate with asset management, IT, and regulatory teams, train field personnel, and assist with compliance audits. Occasional travel and safety focus are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree plus 4 years relevant experience; or 8 years with no degree.
• Relevant work experience includes regulatory compliance, utility experience, substation maintenance, protective relay experience, system planning, data reporting and data analysis.
• Strong leadership, project management and communication skills.
• Experience in leading projects, process development, planning/analysis and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff responsible for Relay Testing System support and FEU relay software usage.
• Provide field technical support for relay test software and testing of new equipment.
• Coordinate with Asset Management, IT, and regulatory teams on PRC-005 maintenance requirements.
• Deliver training to field personnel on relay test software and compliance processes.
• Assist in compliance audits and develop maintenance documentation; travel as needed.
