Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and full project execution for substation and industrial applications. This role demands deep expertise in protection schemes, field leadership, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of complex power systems.

The Senior Relay Technician will analyze schematics, calibrate relays, manage field teams, and interact with utilities and customers to meet

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing and repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
  • Ability to analyze protection schemes for power circuits and other power system components.
  • Experience leading field teams and coordinating project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
  • Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and functional testing of substation control circuits.
  • Read, interpret, and validate protection and control schematics and configurations.
  • Develop project execution plans, outage sequences, and energization plans.
  • Provide mentorship to Relay Technician I, II, and junior engineers.
  • Interface with customers, utilities, and project stakeholders to communicate status and resolve issues.
