Qualifications

  • Requires state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology preferred; continuing education encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehab potential.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Supervise CFY and students in resident care.
  • Communicate progress and discharge plans with care teams and families.
  • Provide in-services and maintain compliant documentation.
  • Educate residents and families on goals, home exercises, safety, and cognitive strategies.
  • Assist with equipment recommendations to aid swallowing and cognition.
  • Contribute to QA and program development as assigned.
