Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute is seeking a Staff Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with families and physicians. You will supervise CFY students, provide in-services, and document care in medical records to ensure quality rehab services.

The role requires state licensure, ongoing CE, and proficiency with Net Health and Point Click Care, along with strong teamwork and communication skills for an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state and in good standing.
  • Continuing education as required by state practice act.
  • Proficient with Net Health and Point Click Care software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehab potential.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans to improve function.
  • Assist nursing with training of Restorative Aides.
  • Supervise CFY/clinical fellows or students per state rules.
  • Communicate progress and discharge planning with physicians and families.
  • Participate in resident care conferences and rehab meetings.
  • Provide in-services on training programs for staff.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation per regulations.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control.
  • Educate residents and families on goals, home exercise programs, and safety.
  • Recommend durable medical equipment to support independence.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and rehab program development.
  • Relate positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
