Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license is required.
• Experience in long-term care, acute care, or geriatric nursing is preferred.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• No disqualifying criminal offenses per regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to read and interpret clinical journals, policies, and regulations.
• Ability to document nursing notes, reports, and procedures clearly.
• Ability to interact confidently with leadership, residents, families, physicians, and the public.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide LPNs and CNAs with confidence and kindness.
• Deliver resident care according to standards of practice.
• Observe, assess, document, and communicate changes in resident conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Receive, transcribe, and execute physician orders accurately.
• Develop and evaluate care plans to support residents’ wellness and comfort.
• Direct CNAs to ensure safe, respectful care per policy.
• Perform shifts with rounds, shift handovers, and thorough communications.
• Assist with admissions, pain evaluations, and required documentation.
• Advocate for resident comfort and pain management.
• Complete incident/accident reporting per policy.
• Notify physicians and families of significant health changes.
