Responsibilities

• Direct nursing staff during tour of duty and ensure compliance with federal, state and local standards.
• Lead the nursing service to develop, maintain and update policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with DON/ADON and other departments for resident care.
• Keep Nursing Service Procedures Manual current and ensure staff adherence.
• Prepare and present reports on nursing operations as required.
• Participate in quality assurance and facility surveys.
• Supervise admissions, transfers and discharges as needed.
• Monitor staffing levels and performance discipline as necessary.
• Ensure safe medication administration and documentation.
