Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a Registered Dietitian to oversee patient meal services at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO. You will lead daily operations, educate with nursing, and ensure therapeutic diets are followed per orders, delivering exceptional care and service.

You will train caregivers, enforce food safety standards, and drive quality initiatives in a cost-effective, collaborative environment. This role requires strong leadership and nutrition expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Service, Dietetics, Nutrition or Management; Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 6 months of hire.
• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
• ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
• Demonstrated highly effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience using word processing, advanced or complex spreadsheet and database applications, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications, as well as computerized tracking systems.
• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of patient meal services.
• Partners with nursing to meet patients’ needs by educating with nursing and ensuring guidelines are followed.
• Leads patient meal areas with training in therapeutic diets and coordinates with caregivers to follow provider orders.
• Implements clinical best practices to deliver exceptional care at appropriate cost.
• Provides value-based leadership to establish high-functioning teams and accountable operations.
• Facilitates HR functions including hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating, conflict resolution, and discipline.
• Manages staff to meet food safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitors quality and satisfaction scores; collaborates with system-level directors to achieve outcomes.
• Communicates nutrition expertise with healthcare providers.
• Works closely with clinical team to address patient diet orders and concerns.
