Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks an experienced nutrition care leader to supervise Registered Dietitian staff and maintain clinical practice within the Nutrition and Dietetics Department.

Qualified candidates have RD credentials and 2 years in a RD role, including healthcare experience. Graduate degree or LD credential within 6 months of hire is expected, with supervision if needed. A robust benefits package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, including 1 year in a healthcare setting.
• Graduate degree required for new candidates or RD credential held before Jan 1, 2024.
• Must be supervised by a Licensed Dietitian if LD credential is not yet obtained.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily nutrition care operations in the department or specialty area.
• Supervises, motivates, and counsels staff while ensuring policy compliance.
• Coordinates payroll activities and attendance logs where designated.
• Demonstrates mastery in medical nutrition therapy and nutrition support interventions.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives and participates in clinical research protocols.
• Coordinates training of dietetic interns and oversees education programs.
• Collaborates with medical teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Conducts regular staff meetings and develops resolutions to barriers in patient care.
