Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy under general supervision. Responsibilities include nutrition data collection, diet planning, and education for patients across the life cycle, with collaboration from physicians and nurses.

Requires RDN credentials and state licensure within 180 days of hire. Primary location is 5323 Harry Hines Blvd, with benefits including health coverage from day one for full-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics is required.
• Registered Dietitian credentialed with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed by the state of Texas (upon hire, or in process).
• Licensed Dietitian (LDIE); license must be issued within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collects nutritional data from patient medical records and evaluation instruments.
• Documents and provides medical nutrition therapy for prevention and treatment of diseases.
• Prepares special diet menus for patients requiring special dietary treatment.
• Assesses diets and nutritional status of patients throughout life cycle; provides nutrition counseling and education as appropriate.
• Performs and manages nutrient analysis through use of computer.
• Interacts with health‑care team members to address dietary and nutritional needs of patients.
• Evaluates outcomes of nutrition interventions.
• Develops and/or revises nutrition education materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
