Job summary

CoolSys is seeking a Lead Apprentice/Journeyman for commercial building construction projects in Odessa, TX. You will serve as the lead technical resource, manage job status, costs, and safety, and coordinate with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors to ensure project success.

The role requires 5+ years in construction, strong task organization, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while adhering to Safety policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or related industry/trade.
• Knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage time.
• Ability to maintain project labor hours and request change orders as needed.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Lead Technical resource on assigned projects.
• Reports on job status and performance.
• Controls job costs.
• Develops and maintains productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors.
• Ensures the use of PPE and safe behavior by all employees.
• Ensures compliance with Installation policies and procedures, including project tracking, safety, time and attendance.
• Oversees 3rd party resources.
• Directs and oversees the work of apprentices and journeymen assigned to projects.
